Everything is on the uptick, for now. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq are snapping losing streaks and though C3 does not recommend investing into these indexes for moral reasons, their uptick in price is absolutely a good sign for the market.

 

Good news for the Grocery Stores! The supply chain woes are easing up for some and Grocery stores are looking less barren now then they were a few weeks ago. This is because the stores have finally had enough time to reup supply since the pandemic, sorta of, ended and demand spiked. The problem now is they may have too much supply and we all know from econ 101 that too much supply drives down price and in return profits. The grocery stores will eventually get it right, it just takes time adjusting from a global shutdown that had supply and demand on a roller coaster ride.

 

Venture Capitalists keep reigning in their investments: One top VC firm, Sequoia Capital, gave a presentation to its companies called "Adapting to Endure."

 

Disney is catching Netflix in Subscribers: Netflix is trying to keep the lead by staying out ahead of the Elon coined "Woke Mind Virus" but it may not be enough as Legacy projects are helping Disney gain more ground (Think: Star Wars and Children's content).  Neither Disney or Netflix get positive scores on the C3 ethical screening process, but if Netflix can keep from caving to the woke mob, their battle with Disney for subscribers could mean a lot for the culture at large. 

 

The Film industry has yet to recover from the pandemic. Only 102 films are expected to be theatrically released this year which is over 20% less than in 2019. This is a huge indicator of the health of our economy. If films are not being produced that means film makers and financial backers do not think people will spend money on luxuries like movies. This will have a cascading effect on the rest of the economy. Though it could just be taking the Movie industry some additional time to recover from the pandemic. 

 

The Supply Chain is now affecting Gas, not talking coal/oil. Helium to be specific. There is a national Helium shortage right now and it is making us all realize how important the gas is! Helium is used for Weather Balloons, MRI Machines, Rocket Fuel and a lot more. The price for Helium is almost at all-time highs. in case you didn't know we dealt with a similar shortage of Helium in 2019 before the pandemic.

• A huge Tech deal went down when Broadcom acquired chipmaker VMware for $61B.
• Blackstone backed investment fund bought rights to Justin Timberlake music catalog for $100M.
• Coinbase and Block inc., are ticking back up this past week. Planet Fitness and Nvidia showed up big last week as well.
• Despite Grocery stores in the US being able to restock shelves, the global food supply is still struggling. We truly live in abundance here in the states!
• BTC and Crypto in general failed to rally with the rest of the market last week, but past critics like JPMorgan Chase have since become bullish on the digital asset.
