More than $11T has been erased from Global Stocks since March. The worst part is, this is probably not the bottom since only about 30% of S&P companies have hit one year lows.

 

Bezos is criticizing Biden! Bezos has made comments that the Biden Administration is to blame for inflation and saying that their tweets on taxing corporations will bring down inflation are false and the Biden administration needs to stop flooding the economy with stimulus money because its keeping inflation high. Bezos may be out for his own purposes here since Inflation hurts Amazon, but he is not wrong when it comes to his inflation critiques of the Biden Economy.

 

Sweden and Finland are looking to join NATO: Some in the US are a little ticked off by this, because they see it as the Nordic countries panicking because of Russia's war on Ukraine and now they are just looking for protection. This idea is because The US has paid almost 4% of their GDP into NATO and other countries who were suppose to pay 2% have not even paid half a percent. People in the US are growing tired of being the police force of the world. International politics is not C3's specialty but these are some interesting points to consider. Should the US even be a part of NATO? From a financial perspective of US citizens, the answer is not a clear yes.ye, from a world peace standpoint, the answer is not a clear no.

 

Retailer Earnings. This week we will get earnings reports from Walmart, Home Depot, Target and TJX. The big question is...were they hit hard like Tech companies and banks? Or are people still spending money? The issue here with barren shelves in a lot of parts of the country is that some big retailers may not be able to sell enough product because they don't have the product to sell! The Supply Chain may be increasing its victim count yet again. However, consumer staples is the only sector that closed higher last week on the stock market.

 

Coinbase Crash! Coinbase has a lot of reasons for the most recent catastrophic crash; Drop in active users because of tight economic times, they spent $1.5B last year and that had investors worried, and they announced that in the event of bankruptcy Coinbase may have to use investor assets to pay off company creditors (Unlikely, but still scary!!).

 

California has a budget surplus?!?! They have a terrible homeless problem but those sky high taxes are paying off for government piggy banks.

 

Baby Formula Shortage. The formula shortage problem will probably not end anytime soon and could last through the year. This is horrible and people are looking for who to blame. The real culprit is the supply chain and all the issues that are affecting every thing at this moment in time, but the recall of formula by Abbott along with the US restricting European imports are two giant reasons why parents are having trouble keeping their babies fed.

• Saudi Aramco posted its biggest earnings since going public. Big win for the Oil company that is now the highest valued company in the world (Sorry not sorry Apple).

• Bloomberg recently reported that the world's richest 500 people lost more than $1T in net worth this year. I know us normal people don't care about the uber wealthy but when the uber wealthy lose money, we tend to all lose money.
