Many of my readers probably have a conservative bend to their politics. And with the non-elected democrat nominee Kamala Harris replacing that old dementia patient, many of us are probably thinking - "How could anyone in their right mind, vote for the democrat candidate?" Well I am here to answer that question and hopefully inject some civility into
your family get togethers.
First off, if the Republicans ran someone deaf, mute, blind, and dumb would you then vote for the Democrat nominee? Probably not, right?! Why? Because we vote for ideology not for people. If there was a party that was pro-life and had a terrible candidate and a party that was pro-abortion and had a very well-spoken and highly educated candidate, A pro-lifer
would not ditch his moral values to vote for the pro-abortion candidate just because that candidate came off as more palatable.
People who think Trump or Kamala Harris is the savior are very lost and misunderstand politics and human nature. 90% of the country knows which party they will vote for before candidates are even known. It is that 10% of undecided people that sway
elections. Now that 10% may vote for this person over that person because they sound more articulate or have less of a scandalous past, but this does not make for lasting value formation. When we talk politics, we must always stress policy and never focus too heavily on Politian's. Because Politian's are generally corrupt and they come and go, and they represent a government that will never solve your problems.
By focusing on policy and therefore values, we are able to be more rooted in our persuasions and come across as more authentic. Authenticity attracts and that attraction can lead to the changing of a mind or the formation of a mind.
I say all this to primarily communicate one thing. The typical undecided voter is either young people fresh out of
school or single women. Both tend to favor more left-wing policies that are bad for economics and society at large. The way in which to facilitate a change in these peoples voting habits is not to point to a bombastic person like Trump who many find threatening, but to express the merit and virtue of the policies a conservative government can enact. Promising free things to the most vulnerable of voters (young people and single women) is very low-hanging fruit that the left loves to grab, but
history and logic can easily point out why this is a fool's errand, or even a demonic errand.
Okay, sorry for the incoherence in this week's rant. I hope you were able to get something out of it. I did it way too quickly due to some time constraints. God Bless you all!!
