Monthly Message - Buy The Devil's Gambit

The Devil's Gambit needs your help. So many of you reading this have been incredibly generous over the last few years and I cannot thank you enough. When our Lord put it on my heart to write this book about how the enemy tricked us into funding his camp rather than the Kingdom of God, I had no idea how it would get into the hands of anyone including my own. I, the guy with a dismal reading and writing SAT score who had only been a Christian for what seemed like 5 minutes and had no connections to editors, designers or distributors should have been the last pick to write this book. But through your generosity and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the book became a reality and a well-produced reality at that (though maybe I am just biased).

However, there is a problem. The funds have been spent on the editing, the design, and the overall production and nothing is left for the marketing of the book. Now, before you start looking for your checkbook, please STOP! It would be pointless. My reach is modest at best and true marketing for a book takes hundreds of thousands of dollars and even then, there is no guarantee. Rather what we need is a boots on the ground approach. If you are willing, I need people to do help me do the following...

1. Order the book on Amazon AND leave a review. Even if you know what the book is about because you have been a loyal C3 reader since the beginning, order it anyway and give it to a friend. Perhaps gift it to someone of influence who may want to champion the cause. 
2. Help distribute the books in bulk via your church, your Christian conference, your school, your work, or any other way you can think of. I am happy to send books in bulk at the cost of shipping to anyone who wants to distribute. Email support@christcnteredcapital.com for details.
3. Pray that God continues to guide this project in accordance with His will, whatever that means.

• Markets were a bit of a bloodbath last week. BTC is down in the $70K range, The S&P 500 took a 10% plunge, and oil dipped below $60/barrel. Overall, $6 trillion was wiped out from the stock market in a two-day time period. Who or what is to blame? Mr. Trump and his tariffs. I have been thinking a lot about what to make of Donald Trump's trade war. In theory, I think tariffs are a long-term win for the US. They could and would, overtime, incentivize US production and help us tackle our comical debt problem. However, the short-term lived experience will be rough. Goods and services will get very expensive and that coupled with potential cuts to welfare programs by DOGE will make life hard for many Americans. Yet, I highly doubt that President Trump will keep these tariffs long-term, and I have even more doubt that they will last beyond his presidency, which they would need to for the US to reap the benefits. A more moderate Republican or a Democrat is sure to be next in line after Trump. So, what is the play? Is it all a short-term bluff? Probably not, but it may be a partial bluff. President Trump knows that the US economy still reigns supreme, and he is flexing those muscles before they atrophy under crippling debt and a globalized economy. The rest of the world knows that they have banked on Us consumption for decades and they do not want to bite the hand that feeds them. Therefore, I think the tariffs are coming on strong here in the beginning of the Trump presidency and once Trump gets others to bow to the US's strength, much of the tariffs will go away, but some will certainly be here to stay. The problem for commentators is that the trump administration plays things very close to the chest and we have no idea as to what tariffs will stay long-term and which ones are short-term bluffs. Or for the matter, we don't even know what "short-term" means...Could be a few months, could be a few years, could end tomorrow if certain countries cave to Trump. 

• The Senate passed a budget blueprint that could make Trump's 2017 tax cuts permanent, raise the debt ceiling another $5 trillion to keep the US from defaulting (I hope those last 13 words are not completely lost on the American public), and supposedly secure border and energy security. Yet, it is probably a 60/40 shot that this budget blueprint makes it through the House. Democrats can filibuster it if house republicans do not exactly agree with the Senate.

• A Minecraft Movie nearly doubled their projected $80 million opening weekend haul by raking in $157 Million. Video Game movies continue to reign supreme as Hollywood keeps from taking risks and stays the course of creating movies that have a built-in audience.
